IMPACT OF INDUSTRIALIZATION ON ENVIRONMENT IN BOMPAI, NASARAWA LOCAL GOVERNEMNT AREA OF KANO STATE

This study investigated the impact of industrialization on environment in Bopai, Nasarawa Local

Government Area of Kano State. The study raised one research objective, one research question

and one null hypothesis. Survey research design was adopted for this study. The population was

50 industries and was maintained as the sample size. Industrialization Questionnaire (IQ) and

Environmental Pollution Questionnaire (EPQ) were used as the instruments for data collection.

The instruments were validated by experts and the reliability coefficients of 0.67 and 0.55 were

established using Cronbach Alpha Method with the help of SPSS. Mean and standard deviation

were used to answer the research question. Simple Linear Regression was used to test the

research hypothesis. The research hypothesis was rejected as the calculated P-value was less

than the alpha value (< 0.05). The finding revealed that there was a significant impact of

industrialization on environment Bopai, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State. Based

on the finding, it was concluded that, there was a significant impact of industrialization on

environment. The researcher recommended that, industries should adopt corporate social

responsibility to enhance the lives of residents in Bompai.
